Excellent points Luke. One focus of the Learning Technologies Master of Science (LTMS) program at Harrisburg University (http://www.harrisburgu.edu/learningtechnologies) is exposing students to the range of learning technologies, because "one size does not fit all." All technologies and approaches have their strengths and weaknesses. Addressing every learning need with the same solution often results in missed opportunities for true performance results and an efficient and effective learning function.

LEEF is a great place to see how others are adding games, simulations and virtual worlds to their learning solution mix. And, even if games, simulations and virtual worlds might not be on the immediate horizon, attendees will experience game and simulation techniques that can be incorporated into traditional learning approaches.

Just like there are virtual classroom techniques that force you to think about how you can improve the physical classroom, there are game and simulation techniques that can be incorporated to improve more traditional eLearning.

Attend LEEF 2010 for immediate and future impact on education and learning initiatives.
